Bathroom maintenance
Keeping your bathroom looking fresh and new can be a real challenge. Preventative care is the key. You need to eliminate the build-up of glaze destroyers and surface-damaging deposits such as hard water scale, soap scum and body oils. At the same time, you need to avoid damage by improper use of acid cleaning products and abrasive pads. Try the following.
1. Regularly use a disinfectant spray bathroom cleaner and wipe down all surfaces and fixtures, to keep things clean and bright.
2. You will need to use an acidic detergent cleaner that’s kind to delicate surfaces but effective against mineral scale and residue. Read the manufacturer's instructions and test the product on a small part of each surface before using it.
3. Rinse using cool water, a nylon scrubbing pad or sponge.
4. Have a good grout and crevice brush handy (an old toothbrush will do) for stubborn spots.
5. Use a surface seal on cleaned surfaces as a protective cover against scale and residue build-up.
6. Moisture in the bathroom is the enemy. Keep things dry by wiping down, rather than allowing moisture to dry up by itself.
